I will be a Grandmother soon! Actually, I am already a Grandmother. It’s just that I haven’t officially met my little grand-blessing yet! He or she is still residing in my daughter’s womb awaiting childbirth! It can be any time now and I am very excited!
A few weeks ago, I hosted a baby shower for my daughter and her husband.
Decorating for it was a lot of fun!
I wanted to decorate with sweet baby clothes hanging on a clothesline…
Oops, the cover on the bassinet is popping off in this photo. We fixed it before the baby shower. 🙂
I picked up a bassinet at a local thrift shop! I wanted to use it to decorate. Since it was new and right out of the box, I’ll certainly put it to good use at my home for when the baby visits!
I had the idea to clean up a wooden desk that was Chaldea’s from her childhood. I put a request on the baby shower invitations to bring a children’s book. I wrote a little rhyme on the chalk board hanging on the chair as well as the little note about this being Chaldea’s desk when she was a little tyke. And, of course, the photo on the desk is Chaldea when she was a little girl.
I had fun placing cute teddy bears, stuffed animals, and birds (Chaldea and I share a love for birds!) all around. My daughter Jessica placed children’s books around too.
I placed photos of Chaldea as a baby and a little girl all around.
Back at home before the shower I was able to capture this sweet “sisters” shot. Oh the beauty of that moment!
A little help with hair before the baby shower from little sister Mary-Catherine! Shhh, don’t tell that I posted this. 🙂
Do you see the teapots on every table?
So blessed that many friends and family came out to celebrate with us despite the snowy weather that day! We enjoyed a delicious brunch. I’ll later share my baked french toast recipe (to the right of the glass carafe in the white baking pan).
Mother-to-be checking out the yummy desserts! The beautiful cupcakes were made by her godmother Angela and the Italian pastry cookies (still wrapped in this photo) were made by her Aunt Karen! Not pictured are desserts that I made, iced shortbread cookies topped with fresh raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries and homemade pumpkin doughnuts and chocolate cake pops that Jessica made–yum! By the way, that’s a photo of Chaldea as a baby in the background.
With my beautiful daughters! I am very grateful for Mary-Catherine’s and Jessica’s help with the shower.
I can’t wait to see the baby in these sweet clothes!
Posing for her Mom. 🙂
It was so much fun. The Mother-to-be was understandably very tired afterwards–but still smiling. 🙂 She needed to sit down.
