My heart goes out to those who have served our country and to those who are currently serving. Two of my brothers: Gary and Tim have served in the Viet Nam War. Gary has gone to his Eternal reward. The war took a toll on him.
You might have seen this page in which I describe the Prayerfully Hoping & Expecting Novena Bracelets. Here is a snippet from there:
These Novena prayer bracelets serve many purposes and are appropriate for any woman who would like to celebrate and pray for human life…
I have made each bracelet with nine beads to symbolize nine months of pregnancy. The number nine is very significant in praying a novena of prayer. As well, there are nine choirs of Angels. The bracelet will be a visual reminder to pray a novena for your own pregnancy, for your daughter, granddaughter, godchild, daughter-in-law, or niece’s pregnancy, to pray to conceive a child, to pray to adopt a child, to pray for your own children and grandchildren, and to pray for every pregnancy to result in a live birth and for the end to abortion.
I pray as I create each novena bracelet. Each bracelet will be constructed with an attached crucifix, Miraculous Medal, and most of them will also contain a pregnancy saint’s medal. It will be shipped to you in an attractive box with prayer cards inside. I encourage you to get your bracelet blessed so that it may serve as a blessed sacramental.
Because I feel close to the women after having spent time with them over the years and having given presentations to the wonderful heroic women at West Point, at Fort Bliss, and just very recently at their Worldwide conference in Washington, DC, I have created special Novena prayer bracelets for them and anyone wanting to pray for those in the service and their families. The bracelet (which can serve as a sacramental after it is blessed) can be a wonderful reminder of prayer for your loved ones in the military. Each one comes in a gift box with prayer cards, including a novena prayer to St. Ann.
Thus far, I am using blue colors to represent the Blessed Mother, the multi-colored khaki and earthy greenish hues because I think they resemble military uniforms, the multi-pastel colors are just because they are pretty! And I will soon make some bracelets with white (and red and blue) to symbolize the Navy and Coast Guard as well.
You can see some of the first designs below. And here first is a NEW wrap design I have just created (one side of the medal has an image of St. Michael and the other says “U.S. Armed Forces). It is a wrap style which means it does not have a clasp that you have to worry about. The size is somewhat adjustable since it is a clasp style. This bracelet has a silver crucifix and a silver round Miraculous Medal along with the classic novena style nine beads:
